Velvet!

So excited that the velvet has arrived!  Now I can get sewing on the new round of headbands!

The colors are a beautiful, and perfect match.  I cannot wait to get going on them...since I have several people requesting more!

Velvet...beautiful velvet.

So...I had gone on and on about this great site with tons of colors of velvet right?  Well...they didn't have the size that I needed!! Eeek!

So back to the internets I went...and found the most beautiful selection on, amazingly enough, Etsy!  Why give money to big craft sites when I can support my Etsy community!

So I got 3 yards each of the beautiful colors below!

I cannot wait until they arrive and I can get cracking on more headbands!!  I already have people asking for more, and I love that!

I am hoping at some point to expand from just headbands to handbags, and maybe even clothing!  Who knows!  :)

10 new cute ribbons for very little money- this is enough to make 60 new headbands!! These are very awesome.

I can't wait to get started on these and get them up on the site!!  I just have to wait until the velvet and tags arrive. :)

Ribbon hunting

So the really fun part about making things...is the materials gathering process.  I love looking at and touching all of the fun colors and textures of fabrics.  But...not a lot of stores carry the variety of colors, patterns and widths of ribbon I need for my headbands...so to the internets I go...

I found this awesome site called The Ribbon Retreat.  They have TONS of types of ribbon, and widths.  Shopping in a store I am limited to the width first and colors in velvet (the magic of the no-slip headband)...but this site has the most amazing selection!! :) yay!  22 different colors, and 3 widths! I am in heaven.

Pretty sure I just found my ribbon supplier!

The new Etsy shop is up and running.  I have to admit, it's very cool seeing my creativity out in the world.  It will be even better once the rest of the items are up!
